We pray, Thee O Almighty and Eternal God! Who through Jesus Christ hast revealed Thy glory to all nations, to preserve the works of Thy mercy, that Thy Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue with unchanging faith in the confession of Thy Name.

The bishops of the U.S. met June 13-16 for our summer meeting in Indianapolis. Listed below is my summary of the meeting:

In the world of Catholic Evangelization I find that there is much being written about the subject while the word “Evangelization” is bantered about in parishes but there is actually little Evangelization occurring. 

Today, Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Crimestoppers director Darlene Cusanza, local law enforcement, faith leaders and communtiy leaders gathered at St. Louis Cathedral for a prayer service and news conference to announce Crimestoppers Good Samartian Project.

In his latest book, Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes, Kenneth Bailey provides further discussion of various parts of the New Testament Gospels, from the perspective that has been his own unique contribution over the past three decades or so.

When my children look at me, they should see a resemblance to the face of Christ. The way I treat them should remind them of the Heavenly Father’s love and care for them.

Each year dioceses around the country arrange special events to highlight the importance of defending religious freedom.

God our Father, In your wisdom and love you made all things.

I am recommending this book not only for a summer read but a daily go-to because it only requires a minute or so of time. It’s a way of positively directing your day as you ponder Kelly’s observation.

It doesn’t take long for a parent to realize that our children absorb everything we do and say. I remember the first time I heard my two year old let out a long sigh and say “Oh, my gosh. I can’t even.”
