Throughout our city, you may have noticed the Little Free Libraries in neighborhoods. They are cute little boxes with a roof that contains free books that anyone could take or add to. But have you noticed a similar-looking structure at the corner of Pine and Walmsley? One would assume that this is yet another Little Free Library but take a closer look.
St. Rita Church in New Orleans has taken a familiar idea and added their own spin. They created The Little Free Pantry. This pantry is stocked with non-perishables and accessible 24-7 for anyone in need. People can also stop by to contribute by adding to this pantry. What a simple yet amazing way to give back to the local community.
