Archbishop Gregory Aymond named Br. Gale Archbishop Rummel's new president effective July 1, 2012. Mr. Michael Scalco will take on the role of principal.
This morning, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Dr. Jan Lancaster introduced Christian Brother Gale Condit as the new president of Archbishop Rummel High School. The faculty, staff and students received the news with a standing ovation. A second ovation erupted as Dr. Lancaster announced that Mr. Michael Scalco, who is currently serving as president/principal at Archbishop Rummel would return in his role as principal for 2012-2013.
After consultation with a search committee, Archbishop Aymond approached the Christian Brothers provincial in the Fall to request that a Christian Brother, specifically Br. Gale, be made available to come to Archbishop Rummel High School as the new president.
Br. Gale first came to Archbishop Rummel as a student teacher in 1965. He returned as a teacher in the 1970s after spending time on the faculty of two other area Christian Brother schools, St. Paul’s School in Covington and De La Salle High School in New Orleans. Following his time at Rummel, he worked at Loyola University, De Le Salle and the Academy of the Sacred Heart before returning again to Rummel in 1989 as the Admissions Director for two years and then the Director of Development for eight years. Br. Gale currently serves as Vice-Principal for Development at The St. Paul’s School in Covington where he has been for eleven years.
