Catholic Women in Action, a committee of the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, invites area women to reflect on how to spiritually prepare for Lent and Easter.
The committee is holding a three-part Lenten series entitled “Deepening My Love for the Eucharist.”
Participants are encouraged to: Listen to the whisper of the living God; Come and eat the Bread of Life; Taste the goodness of God in the Eucharist; Integrate the hope of the Resurrection into one’s daily life; and Dance in the freedom of the empty tomb.
The series will take place on February 28, March 6 & 13, 2012. In keeping with Archbishop Aymond’s call for a Year of Renewal to create a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Mass and the Eucharist, the series will delve into all forms of Eucharistic adoration and what the Eucharist means to Catholics. It will feature local priests and women reflecting on strengthening one’s relationship with Christ through the Eucharist – and the meaning of the Eucharist in one’s personal prayer life – as a cornerstone of one’s faith. The series will be an enriching opportunity to listen to others share their faith journey during the Lent and Easter season.
Mass begins at 8:00am, with reflections to follow. Confessions are available at 10:30; complimentary babysitting will be provided. All are welcome; there is no charge for attending.
St. Francis Xavier Church is located at 444 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA.
