Festa d'Italia will bring Italy to the Marigny to benefit the growing ministries of the Bishop Perry Center.

On Sunday, November 3 the Bishop Perry Center will open its doors to the community for an evening of food and song Italian style to benefit the new and growing ministries housed at the Center.  Festa d’Italia  will begin Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by the short trip to the Bishop Perry Center for a taste of Italy in the Marigny.

The Bishop Perry Center is a new evangelization and outreach ministry of archdiocese in cooperation with St. Louis Cathedral with a mission to reach out in the spirit of the New Evangelization to the residents, both settled and transient, of The Marigny, Bywater and the French Quarter areas. The Center seeks to provide person to person ministry in a welcoming, non-church setting.

The menu will include traditional New Orleans Italian favorites including muffalettas. Past and meatballs, eggplant parmesan, lasagna, Italian Jambalaya and artichoke balls plus favorite Italian desserts including tiramisu and Italian fig and seed cookies.   Entertainment will be provided by vocalists Sr. Julia Darrenkamp, Megan Dearie, Laura Decuir and Amy Pfrimmer accompanied by Michele Starns on the piano.

The cost is $50 and tickets will be available at the door.  For more information or to purchase tickets call (504) 227-3272 or go online to bpc.arch-no.org.
