As of today, all parents of students attending Catholic schools should be prepared to send their children back to school on Monday, September 8. The Office of Catholic Schools is planning to have all schools open, however, no schools will open with out electricity. The state fire marshall has indicated power must be restored by 3 pm on Sunday, September 7 in order for schools to reopen on Monday.

As of today at 12 noon, all schools in St. Charles, St. Tammany, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes are ready to open. In Orleans and Jefferson parishes, the power has not yet been restored to about 30 sites. No schools in St. John the Baptist parish are ready to open with power. A more complete list of openings will be posted on the Emergency Preparedness site of www.archdiocese-no.org.
